Safety is the highest priority at Villeneuve Airport. Edmonton Airports works closely with NAV CANADA, Transport Canada, airport tenants and aviation partners to maintain a safe operating environment for everyone using the airport.

All pilots, operators and visitors are expected to comply with Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), airport procedures and any operational notices issued by Edmonton Airports.

Operating Safely at ZVL

Pilots are encouraged to:

  • Review current NOTAMs before every flight.
  • Follow all instructions provided by NAV CANADA Air Traffic Services.
  • Observe published circuit procedures and noise-sensitive areas.
  • Exercise caution during periods of reduced visibility or winter operations.
  • Remain vigilant for wildlife activity on or near the airfield.
  • Report any hazards or safety concerns to Airport Operations.

Airport Operations

Edmonton Airports conducts regular inspections and maintenance of the airfield, manages wildlife hazards, coordinates snow and ice control during winter operations and responds to airside incidents to help ensure the airport remains safe and operational year-round.
